New Building Linden-Museum
Drafts of the Institute for Public Buildings and Design of the University of Stuttgart
24 July to 29 September 2019
In the summer semester of 2019, the Institute for Public Buildings and Design of the University of Stuttgart under the direction of Prof. Alexander Schwarz will be addressing the question of the structural future of the Linden Museum. The fictitious task is based on the real idea of the intended new building. Different locations in downtown Stuttgart will be discussed with regard to their possibilities for the ethnological museum. The respective urban disposition places specific demands on the museum designs and offers space for contemporary curatorial approaches. In a concluding exhibition in the Linden-Museum, models and drawings from various design positions will be presented. The drafts are also intended to stimulate discussion about the significance of the Linden Museum for public urban space in the centre of Stuttgart.
Opening of the exhibition: Tuesday, 23 July, 6 p.m.
Prof. Dr. Inés de Castro, Director of the Linden Museum Stuttgart
